Farm to Table “Mar a Mesa”

The cuisine at Cristal Azul & LocosCocos embraces the rich flavors not only of the local land and sea but also of the “Sabenero” & “Pescador” culture of Guanacaste. Everything is delivered fresh to our doors or brought in to us from local vendors, farmers and & fishermen that we know personally. There is always an abundance of fresh fruits, veggies, salads, bean and rice dishes for guests to enjoy. We welcome all preferences and palates at our tables!

I was recommended to this beautiful retreat by a good friend of ours. I had no way of knowing that this would become my favorite getaway. It is so relaxing and remote! Meals

Breakfast is a casual affair and guests appear at the rancho in their own time; Costa Rican Coffee & Tea are ready and waiting for you. Enjoy the morning as the wild wakes up and sit down to a full breakfast of fresh fruit, farm fresh eggs and cheeses, locally cured bacon, homemade granola & yogurt, and a sampling of other local favorites.

Guests are welcome to join us for lunch and dinners on the beach at LocosCocos for catch of the day fresh fish, seafood and the best Ceviche in the area!

Traditional dishes using only the freshest local ingredients prepared and served the way they have been for generations, we do not try to keep up with the modern world of fusion cuisine. If you brought home a fresh catch our chef will gladly prepare you something special!

Guest favorites include: Fresh Jumbo Coconut Shrimp, Catch of the Day Grilled Sea Bass with Garden Herbs, various Ceviches, Tenderloin with our house own “dry rub” cooked to your perfection on the Weber, Baby White Clams in Garlic and White Wine, Typical Chicken with Rice and veggies and always  a selection of fresh garden and bean salads to name just a few!
